12years old when the journey began

His story did not begin with advantage.

It began with the willingness to learn, to accept responsibility, and to keep moving when circumstances changed. What followed was not a straight path, but a succession of practical decisions that gradually connected personal progress with responsibility toward others.

The life journey

Four chapters. One enduring principle.

  1. Age 12–16

    Resolve came before opportunity.

At just 12 years old, Shri Bharatbhai Ramjibhai Kher arrived in Mumbai with one clear aim: to learn a trade and build a better future. For his first three years, he worked without wages, choosing experience over immediate reward.

When poor health took him back to his village, he joined his father in farming. By 16, he was already carrying significant financial and social responsibilities for his family.

  2. 1998–2007

He rebuilt from the ground up.

Around 1998, the family faced serious financial pressure and debt. He responded by starting small: a grocery shop in Rapar in 2000, followed by building-material supply, JCB machinery, and an auto garage.

The work expanded into a brick kiln, coal plant, crusher-pottery manufacturing plant, and a clay mine. At its height, the group of businesses supported nearly 300 workers and their families.

  3. 2008–2011

A return to Mumbai opened a new chapter.

With his children’s education in mind, he chose to return to Mumbai in 2008. The affection shown by workers as he left reflected the relationships built through years of working alongside them.

A slow property market delayed his plans, so he began with a stationery business. In 2011, he entered construction and steadily established his place in the sector through one completed project after another.

  4. The Trust

Success found its purpose in service.

Commercial progress never displaced his connection to community life. Years of involvement with social organisations and community trusts made one need increasingly clear: assistance should be direct, transparent, and delivered with dignity.

That conviction led to Kher Charitable Trust. As Founder President, he now guides an organisation created to support education, essential needs, and people facing difficult circumstances.

When the goal is unwavering and the hard work is relentless, even the struggle transforms into a path to success.
